a site H.1K.L.. still further away from the Battery and situated

in a deep valley being separated by two distinct valleys and

two spurs

or ridges of hills, the heights of which above 0.D. are

figured on the plan..

4. This site is extremely well protected being in a small

deep valley with steep hill sides, closing at head of valley.

There would be two distinct and separate valleys between the

site and the Battery hill and also two riages or spurs of hills

the lowest part of which is about 50 feet higher than the level

of the Battery..

We would therefore subait that with a strong earth or

masony Dau across the mouth of the valley no escape of oil

burning or otherwise would be possible and that owing to the

distance and the height of the hills any smoke would not affect

the Northpoint Battery.

The Site is also at a distance from the works and godowns

so that any accident or fire happening there would not affect

the tanks.

5. The original site for works, &c. shewn reclaimed from the

sea would be retained and a pipe line carried from the tanks

to the works.

6. We recommend you therefore to apply for permission to

erect ordinary overground tanks on the new site as show on our

tracing herewith, the W... regulations for overground tanks

you have already expressed your willingness to comply with..
